
Luc Cianfarani is a new york city-based composer
Having been celebrated for writing music that possesses an “emotional weight that is difficult to shake” (Tome to the Weather Machine), Luc composes gripping and evocative film scores. His work frequently incorporates custom-designed electronic sounds and processes to create ethereal soundscapes for his listeners.
Luc won Best Score at the 2020 Film Racing Competition, and “Made Son”, his most recent collaboration with filmmaker Herman Corneille, will premier later in 2021. His concert music has been performed by nationally recognized ensembles such as Tak Ensemble and Splinter Reeds, and he has worked as an orchestration assistant for film composer Chad Cannon. As a pianist, Luc has performed on Millenium Stage at the Kennedy Center, and he remains committed to performing contemporary music.
Luc is a recent graduate of Boston University, where he received his master’s in music composition in 2020. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 2018, where he graduated with high distinction.
